Quadriptych is a collaborative needlepoint project that reclaims traditionally “feminine” craft to critique gender bias in art history. Women embroider statements by male artists, transforming authoritative declarations into slow, labor-intensive textile works. By examining art as domestic craft versus intellectual pursuit, Quadriptych subverts hierarchies of labor and questions the visibility of women’s contributions to culture. The work blurs the boundary between critical reflection and ornamental tradition, confronting systemic inequalities while reclaiming embroidery as a powerful medium of artistic expression.
